Topic: Convert MADI over Cat 5 to BNC or optical

Hi -

I am trying to get set up with a Soundcraft Si Expression console and stage box. The stage box to console run is over CAT 5. I want to use the RME MadiFace USB into my laptop, and the ADI 6432 Madi > AES convertor to get into my Tascam X48 for backup.

Is there a converter from CAT 5 Madi to either BNC or optical?

Any other suggestions?

As there is no standard for MADI over CAT 5 as of now, you will need to talk to the stage box manufacturer whether they have some such converter...
