Topic: class compliant UFX?

Hello,

The new UCX looks awesome! Are there any plans to add the class compliant mode to the UFX if at all possible?

Thanks,

Zahari

Re: class compliant UFX?

I am also curious about this... please let us know...

I agree.
This is a great add-on to an already awesome product.

Re: class compliant UFX?

I would love that as well. I have been banging my head trying to find a solution
for my iPad2 that does both S/PDIF I/O as well as quality AD/DA's.
Don't make me buy a UCX too! rotfl

SPDIF I/O? Read the CC Tech Info.

Re: class compliant UFX?

I assume you are pointing to no S/PDIF in for CC mode?
I don't really need digital in to the iPad. Pardon my poor wording.
Is there a possibility for CC mode on the UFX?

Re: class compliant UFX?

So since I mainly want to use the UFX as a DAC for the iPad i found this: AUDIOFACE II USB AUDIO INTERFACE - only $59 or $49 + shipping at some places.  It has digital spdif out so I can connect the Ipad via the usb camera kit to it and then run an optical spdif to the UFX. Then I can still have all my other UFX inputs and outputs routed to various other things.  I assume this would work.

Re: class compliant UFX?

Question was: will Class Compliant mode become available for the UFX?
Matthias, will it be available in the future?

Hi Matthias, that sounds great.. am I pushing my luck that with a firmware upgrade, the Babyface may also get a cuddle from the iPad?  :-)

This feature would be incredible for the Babyface since it is the most portable solution.
But I guess the unit wouldn't get enough power from the iPad connector and would required the PSU.
Anyway I pray for this to happen, that would avoid me to borrow a laptop each time I need to record on the road with my babyface smile !

Re: class compliant UFX?

+1 on BabyFace CC capability.  Hope there is enough space left in the FPGA.

With recent arrival of an iPad2 in the family (not mine!), I can now see that it is an elegant device that lots of people appear to enjoy writing apps for.  As I am looking at future use for remote broadcast support, I am waiting to see if the expected iPhone5/iPad3 supports LTE for mobile broadband.

Apps aside, if the BF can provide eventual support for CC on OS5 for the iPad, are there any issues that prevent it working with an iPhone device?

Re: class compliant UFX?

Would absolutely love to see Babyface get Cc capability!!  Jason

Yes, Apple doesn't allow the camera connection adapter to work with the iPhone.  You need it to plug in any CC dac.

Awesome news! Looking forward to using the UFX with my iPad! The UFX is already a beast of a HDR, but the iPad will make a nice companion to the UFX for remote recordings that require overdubs in the field.

Re: class compliant UFX?

I know, CC for UFX doesn't make as much sense as for UCX and Babyface but the UFX is what I have! As others have said it would be a sweet combo for smaller field recordings. I would love to see it.

I think it makes just as much sense. even more so! Live sound with recording in a small foot print. UFX needs CC control!

Agreed!  This would be an amazing addition to the UFX.
