Installation
-------------

Latest firmware
https://www.rme-audio.de/downloads/fut_madiface_win.zip

The firmware update is not possible unless the driver had been installed before.

Follow the instructions of the RME Driver Install Wizard. This tool installs/updates all driver files. In most cases, a restart is no longer necessary. If required the installer will notify you.

News, changes and fixes

Attention:

- This driver requires Windows 10 (1709) or higher

- This driver does not support 32 bit Windows OS anymore (32 bit apps can still be used with an x64 system)

- This driver also supports Windows 11 Arm systems. Both WDM and ASIO are available. ASIO is included as 32 bit and 64 bit, both Arm64EC and Arm native.

- The installer is completely reworked and now copies current files to C:\Program Files\RME\MADIface

- Changing between the former and this driver on Intel systems, back and forth, should be easy and without issues

- Some audio apps on Arm might require to set the power mode not to Best Performance, but Best Power Efficiency, to be able to use latencies below 1024 samples. This might be true only for low CPU apps, though, and needs further investigation, but in any case the driver has no influence on this. As an example, on current computers Reaper and Cubase need about 256 sample buffer size for a fully click-free operation.

- In most cases, a restart is no longer necessary after both initial installation and update. TotalMix FX and Settings dialog are immediately available in the notification area and are also updated.

- To completely uninstall the driver start rmeinstaller.exe and choose Uninstall. Note: Uninstall via Windows Apps (Add & Remove) is no longer supported.

--- 'Load Record/Play with Snapshot' allows a more flexible control as Record/Play settings are no longer bound to Workspaces alone.

- Preferences, Device Handling: new Option Reduce volume Peaks on Snapshot load

---- 'Reduce volume peaks on Snapshot load' improves handling of extreme gain/volume changes between Snapshots, preventing short loud noise bursts.

- Hotkey R resets the peak markers of all level meters

- The option Load Room EQs with Snapshot also loads Volume Calibration and Delay settings

- The name of the last loaded Room EQ Preset is now shown in the Room EQ window (works only for saved Presets aka Recall list, 1 to 16). The name starts flashing as soon as any parameter is changed.
