Topic: Digicheck on Mac - how to check output with totalizer?

Hi
fresh RME User.. so pardon me.

I expect i can check my mix in cubase with DigiCheck Spectrometer.
But it does not show anything.
What am i doin wrong?

It was a while since I set this up but the short answer is that digicheck mac can't display outputs but it can display inputs so you need to send cubases software outputs to two sets of stereo physical outputs. One to your speakers and the other you assign loop back to and then tell digicheck to display the loop backed inputs.

Unfortunatelly, i (yet) did not understand the Matrix Routing...
Complete newbie.. :-)

How can i route the Output to an Input to make DigiCheck work?
Is there some step-by-step Manual for that?
The RME Manual unfortunatelly (to me) is not very  helpfull there.
Maybe its easy, but i dont get it?

I don't use the matrix routing either, it's confusing, and the mixer routing makes more sense to me.

The metering suites in DigiCheck only seem to read the inputs of the device. So you have to make use of the Loopback functionality. In TotalMix, in Mixer View, set your main output to Loopback, Press the spanner icon and it should be at the bottom of the strip that slides out. That will mirror that output to the inputs of the same name.

For example; if your main is on AES L+R outputs then when you enable Loopback the AES L+R inputs will now have the same signal running into them. Right click on the Totalyser and open Input Device Setup... In there you should find the settings to change what the Totalyser is reading.

I do this with Sonar, but I've got to imagine it's pretty close to the same. I'm using Windows 8.1 and RME UCX.

Here's what I do...

I open an instance of DigiCheck and set it to ITU 1770/EBU R 128 Meter.
I set input device to one of the ADAT channels (AS1 to start). I set both left and right to the same channel.
In Sonar, I create a post fader send to that bus. I don't find I have to enable loopback for this.
Now, File > Save Setup As > create a folder and add it to the folder.

I do this for every ADAT channel.
I shift click to open the different instances of DigiCheck.
I save them in the screen position that I want them in.

Now, I shoot a shortcut to the folder to my desktop. I can now quickly open all 8 ADAT channels in their own instance of digicheck nicely spread around the screen, plus one for the master bus, channels 7+8 for me.

I right click each and set K-System to 14. That's my preferred target.

Now, in my Daw, I just send to each out and I have all my meters set up. I can spread them on the main monitor or a separate monitor.
