Topic: Anyone used a PCI to PCI-Express adapter with HDSP card?

Hi all,

I have an old HDSP (PCI, v 1.7) / Multiface that has served me well for many years.  However, I'm not in a situation where I have no free PCI slots on my motherboard, but I do have spare PCI-Express x1 slots.

I wondered if anyone has run the HDSP card through a PCI to PCI Express adapter, like this: http://www.startech.com/item/PEX1PCI1-P … -Card.aspx  - does it still work?  Any issues?

This would save me having to buy a whole new HDSP card, which even selling on the PCI card I'm sure would be a lot more money than that adapter.  Let me know if any of you have heard of this working!

Best regards.

Re: Anyone used a PCI to PCI-Express adapter with HDSP card?

Hi all,

just would like to confirm, I bought a PCI to PCI Express adapter to use with my HDSP card (v1.7), I connected it to the PCIx1 slot on my motherboard and... it works!  Tested a few different buffer sizes (even 32), but the card operates exactly the same way.

I used this adapter: http://www.startech.com/item/PEX1PCI1-P … -Card.aspx ?26 from Amazon.co.uk

Hope this helps someone else who is stuck with their PCI card and googling this - of course this isn't officially supported, etc etc but it worked for me, hope it will for you too!
