Topic: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Hi there.
Im trying to get the digicheck to work.
And the only thing that i get working is the in signal and not the out. Cant even find what channels to select for the outsignal. What am i missing and how do i get it to work?
Working of the babyface.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Use the loopback feauture of the mixer to send signal to inputs for measuring. Output measurement will be added to the OSX version in an update.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Hi,
I've the same problem with Digicheck 0.645 on Mac, especially for the Spectral Analyzer, it's impossible to select the output level, only the input.

Look here:

On my mac, it's possible to select the output/playback/input level only for the "bar meter"
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/4144/levell.th.png

and the "global meter"

it's normal?

All the best.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Hi Daniel Fuchs

I'm using Digicheck long time. on pc
since 1/2 year i'm using a mac
like all other users that work with mac, i'm wondering why te playback function not work for mac.

we are waiting so long time for a update of "DIGICheck 0.645"
i'm checking every time for a update and I am disappointed again and again.

i cant use this loop trick because i need the 2outpus and 2 inputs! its not a good solution

so, i thing i write for all mac/rme users:

Why this playback funktion not work on mac?
can we expect a new version or not?
it gives a not-official version?

please make this work !!

im loving the rme products smile
but this playback problem on digicheck making me not happy with your product.

please explain why its not work and how long we have to wait.

many thanks

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

The playback feature had to be cancelled (which I already announced in this thread:

http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=8712

Post 7). While trying to implement it we had to find out that it is much more complicated than expected. One way to do it would require firmware updates but still be limited to a few fixed channels for playback monitoring.

This feature wish might come back at a later date with other fresh ideas on how to do it.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

hmm, I was going to buy UCX only because I can't use Digicheck with my HDSP PCI on my "Mac" but reading this I kind of don't want to do it anymore… btw. does Digicheck works with UCX?

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

It works.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

I dont seem to have an option to monitor the `output` of my UCX in Digicheck
Is this possible,, worked on XP windows

im running
osx 10.8.2 - latest digicheck - latest driver and firmware for UCX

thanks

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

The OSX version does not support this. Use loopback and monitor at an input.

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Hi Daniel,, thanks for the info...

Under windows i found the monitoring of the output in Digicheck invaluable for working on a mix, truly a top tool!!
I was surprised this seems to be an issue with core audio - and from RME support posts seem that it is something very tricky to get sorted!

Thanks for the how to,, im not familiar with the looback feature - is there a how to anywhere - or could someone kindly point me in the right direction.

All i would like to do at the moment is monitor the main output channels in digicheck - say - Analog outs 1-2.

cheers and thanks,,,, Rme always great support!!

Re: No out in th digicheck on Macbook pro

Loopback is explained in the manual ("Recording a subgroup).
