Topic: [Solved] HDSP 9632. DVD Playback

Hello!

I know this was discussed before and I tried suggestions I have found, but still something wrong here. I am trying to playback dvd with VLC via ADAT channels. I have checked "interleaved" options and select 6 channel 16 bit 48 kHz for ADAT 1. ADAT 1 is default playback device. When I press "test" in ADAT properties it's playing back sounds via correct speakers. But when I try to listing to DVD it's playing back surround channels to all six outputs...

What am doing wrong?

I have latest driver installed... Please, help. I couldn't find any clear explanation on this subject.

I would like to playback dvd video with 5.1 sound via adat channels of HDSP 9632. How to do that? If I select ADA 1 as playback device and set "default format" to 16 bit 48 khz 6 channels, it will playback surround channels copied to adat 1-6...

I don't see anything unusual in the screenshot. However, I don't know what "playback surround channels copied to adat 1-6" means...

I mean that surround channels (Ls and Rs) are playing back via adat 1-2 and adat 3-4 and adat 5-6. As you can see indication on all channels are similar. I do not hear Left, right, center, lfe.

If you see this happening in the middle row of Totalmix, it appears to be an issue of the software configuration. If it is only in the bottom row, check Totalmix routings.

I understand that. This is definitely software configuration and I suspect this is driver problem. Could you please say have I set windows playback device correctly to playback dvd via ADAT? All players in my system can't playback dvd properly. Could you help?

There is no manual for hdsp9632 and windows 7. I wouldn't ask for help if I had clear explanation how to handle that.

I see no obvious problem. And the test seems to play channels correctly, as far as I can see.

You mean that all DVD players in my system are working wrong? Could my problem be related to the fact Speakers could be only stereo? I am using ADAT for output but speaker configuration can be set only for analogue outputs. Maybe that's why players get confused?

Did you try to playback 5.1 ac3 via adat channels under Windows 7 with hdps9632 succesfully?

Most likely a bug either in windows or the audio driver.

@ Rustami

Try Windows Media Player, it may not show the problem.
If you don't like WMP, try MPC, ZoomPlayer, etc (whichever you like) and use reclock in WASAPI or waveout mode, you should be fine as long as you only run 5.1.

Of course, since this functionality is clearly advertised in the manual, one could actually expect it to work without such tricks...

Rustami, we are working an a completely revised driver, so please be patient for a few weeks. The situation should improve. Regarding Speaker: Windows does not allow more than one speaker property per interface.

I tried to set up MPC with no luck. Could you explain where can I find re-clock setting? :-)

Reclock is a direct show filter that you would have to install separately (for use with e.g. MPC). See here:
