Quick Start

1. Start MIDI Remote

2. Select the desired function. This can be done in the menu Function.

3. Select the MIDI ports. This is done in the menu Options, MIDI I/O Setup.

4. Activate communication. This is done in the menu Options, Connect MIDI Ports.

MIDI Remote will now show the current state (Online) in the window title bar. In case it stays Offline check the used MIDI ports, cabling and the current setting on the unit itself (MIDI via MADI, DIN or off).

MIDI Remote establishes an ongoing communication with the remote controlled unit. In some cases this is not desired. To save MIDI bandwidth and possible communication errors, MIDI Remote can also be used offline. Configure the unit, then activate the command Send Single Set of Data, which is available in the menu Options. MIDI Remote will use the MIDI output port only for sending this single command, then shut down communication immediately.

Using multiple units requires to progam a different Device ID into each unit. MIDI Remote uses ALL as default. When using multiple units be sure to have set the current function to use the formerly programmed Device ID via Options, Select Device.

MIDI Remote's multi-client operation enables you to open more than one window. In a multiple device remote setup it is no problem to remote control several units at the same time, and watch their current status. Then use Save Workspace as to conveniently save your complete multi-window setup for later use.
